Ramona Park (CD 9)

The first annual RestoreLB clean-up event will take place on Saturday, June 1st, 2024. This year, five park sites have been selected across Long Beach (one from each Council District) to partake in this event. The 2024 RestoreLB sites include: Cesar Chavez Park (CD 1), El Dorado West (CD 4), Wardlow Park (CD 5), Veterans Park (CD 7) and Jackson Park (CD 8).

Please register for a specific project site/location for this event. You can do so by fselecting the site you will be attending from our event Calendar. This process helps us ensure that all project sites will have an appropriate number of volunteers on the day of the Parks Clean-up Event.

Everyone is welcome to participate in this event, however, it is important to note that all minors must be accompanied and supervised by an adult guardian at all times. Volunteer activities will be outdoors and involve planting and the use of various gardening tools, please consider this when signing up.

We recommend you wear comfortable clothes that you don’t mind getting dirty, close-toed shoes, a hat, sunblock, and a water bottle!

Limited tools (such as gardening gloves, hand trowels, rakes, shovels, wheelbarrows, watering cans, etc) will be provided. You are encouraged to bring your favorite gardening gloves, hand trowels, and kneeling pads if you’d like.

No training or prior gardening experience is needed! All attendees will be provided with instructions/guidance on the day of the event.

During this event volunteers will have the opportunity to participate in planting projects such as shrubs and flowers. This may entail pulling weeds, digging small holes in the soil, settling shrubs and flowered plants in place, watering, and other related tasks. Volunteers will also have the opportunity to connect with other community members.

There will be drinking water and light snacks available to all volunteers throughout the event. Public restrooms will be unlocked and open for use at each of the project sites. Please bring your hours log or volunteer verification form for the site host to sign during this event.
